three-story victorian house on wheels pulled by a genuine steam engine

I found some photos of the above-mentioned house on Fllickr. Here is one without the steam engine and one with the steam engine.

The Lotus Girls had another great display. This year it was the serpent mother. Another view.

Love and Dragons mutant vehicle. The dragons had green laser eyes.

Dr. Megavolt.

I’d rather talk about food. One day Ben from Ben & Jerry’s fame managed to arrange for a massive ice cream giveaway. A truckload of ice cream appeared outside of Center Camp and there were about six people doling out bowls full of Cherry Garcia and other favorites. The lines were short. You could go back for more again and again, not that I have any personal knowledge of that fact.

In Hushville, the beloved playacakes man was back, cooking as many cakes as you could eat each morning. Those of us who knew it was coming came prepared with maple syrup and all types of fruit toppings to share.

One day at Playa Information I was given a token for dinner with the Burning Man work staff. A few nights later I visited the mess hall and got a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey or tofu. Dressing. Yams. Pumpkin pie and whipped cream. There was a chocolate milk dispenser like the one in my elementary school cafeteria! I was glad to see that staff is well fed — these super-humans who assemble an entire city in the desert and then take it away.

I think there’s only about one more Burning Man post left in me. (Never mind the attack on the Death Guild with plastic light sabers. Nothing happened. The signal was given, I guess, and a few people waved their toys around and felt ridiculous. I know I did. That was it. I holstered my saber in my CamelBak and we moved on.
