There is still time to see Misanthrope at the Odd Duck, this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If you don’t, you’ll be missing a rare gem. I don’t know if it’s possible to go wrong with Moliere’s sharp satire, but this production picks it up and runs with it. The use of hip-hop music during scene changes, or to emphasize certain actions and speech, fits right in and serves as a reminder of how utterly modern this material seems 345 years after it was written. The actors are well-cast and skilled, often accomplishing a lot of humor with facial expressions alone.
