There is still time to see Misanthrope at the Odd Duck, this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If you don’t, you’ll be missing a rare gem. I don’t know if it’s possible to go wrong with Moliere’s sharp satire, but this production picks it up and runs with it. The use of hip-hop music during scene changes, or to emphasize certain actions and speech, fits right in and serves as a reminder of how utterly modern this material seems 345 years after it was written. The actors are well-cast and skilled, often accomplishing a lot of humor with facial expressions alone.

If you like farce, satire, snark, or whatever word you want to use for it, this play has it in spades. Very funny. Go here. The curly-haired author:
