You haven’t, have you? Well the cat circus came to Seattle and a friend took me there. Here’s what I’ve learned: cats can roll balls, pull ropes, slither between posts, ring bells, play random piano notes, and make random beats on electric drums. Cats can be induced to do lots of things if they get little pieces of juicy meat at regular intervals. I also learned that the cat circus business is not lucrative. The cat circus sells “pawtagraphs,” cat-ear headbands, cat training kits, “more cowbell” cat T-shirts, photos, DVDs, and more. And the circus still needs a Kickstarter campaign to get a newer RV for its mobile show.
I love that the traveling sideshow is still alive and well in the 21st century.
By the way, in case you missed it a few months ago, Google built a neural network and fed it random images from 10 million YouTube videos, and without being told to do so, it learned to recognized the distinct image of a cat. Also, Cat Power just released a new CD.
