chasing ice

Standard

This is a clip from a movie I saw a few days ago – “Chasing Ice.” This particular 4-1/2 minutes documents a  mind-bogglingly large mass of ice breaking away from a glacier in Greenland. It’s larger than you can really imagine – toward the end of the clip the man behind the photography project tries to put the size into perspective and also show how rapidly the ice is retreating and melting.

I highly recommend the film. It’s difficult to watch it and not wonder how different our planet will be in, say, 50 years (choose your time frame), as this melting continues.
