Here’s a great example of what he does best. In this post he manages to be entertaining and educational about an important scientific subject (big rocks from space hitting the earth), and transmits a contagious eagerness and curiosity about the subject. I learned, I laughed, I cried – actually no, I didn’t cry. But I gained a new perspective on the dangers of medium-sized rocks that weigh 12,000 tons and travel “dozens of times faster than a rifle bullet.”
